Blackhawks new broadcaster Rick Ball calls Jason Dickinson's goal to open scoring vs Wild
The Chicago Blackhawks are currently playing the Minnesota Wild, and the team has already had a great start.
Jason Dickinson found the back of the net, with help from Seth Jones, and Nick Foligno as he potted one on Wild goalie Filip Gustavsson.
Rick Ball called his first Blackhawks goal of the season enthusiastically, as Jason Dickinson seems determined to continue the tear he was on last season.
«I think we know the role that we're going to have,» Foligno said Tuesday. «Likely it'll be a little more defensive, but that doesn't mean we can't create offense and help our team. It's part of the role that we're given and the responsibility and the privilege of playing together is that we can put some goals in, but also have the mindset of being that line for our team that can kind of steal momentum, be a hard line to play against and kind of create that identity.»
«He's got great speed,» Foligno said added. «He understands the way he needs to play to be successful and I think he's confident in who he is now and he's going to complement our team really well. He's a guy that can kind of play with anybody I think we understand how we're going to have success this year and just the way we need to play as a line to be successful. And he slotted in really well there.»
Blackhawks Third Line Could Be Defensive, Dependable and Dynamic
Dickinson scored a career-high 22 goals with the Blackhawks in 2023-2024 and was given an All-Star nod last season as well, as a substitute for Connor Bedard.
But in the end, of course, Bedard would go anyway, leaving Dickinson to get some rest before being a reliable contributor for the Hawks for the rest of the season.
If the 3rd line continues like they are this preseason, they should be as lethal as they were before, the best checking line on the Blackhawks team.
It should give us plenty of reasons to hear Rick Ball call, many, many more goals.
