Blackhawks ownership group Wirtz family completes $22.5M sale in Chicago that changes it all for the team
Wirtz family completes severe $22.5 million dollar sale that changes it all
The family who owns the Chicago Blackhawks, the Wirtz', have made a large sale involving a 139-unit apartment complex in Lakeview of Chicago.
The sale, which involves two buildings that have roughly seventy apartments in each, totalled a whopping $22.5 million. A $18.2 million dollar lone by Greystone was taken out by FMA properties to make the purchase.
Here's how this sale benefits the Blackhawks arena, team, and surrounding areas.
While this may seem like a smaller purchase for the Wirtz family, the funds are going to something much better, a $7 billion dollar project near the United Center that includes a music hall, retail spaces, United Center artifacts, residential units and more, called the '1901 project'.
