This call up has been long-awaited by many Blackhawks fans as Nazar has been one of their best prospects down in Rockford.
Many feel that he will be the centre that will help elevate Connor Bedard and his game as he has been eroding over the past several weeks during the season.
While it's been a pragmatic approach for Nazar and the Blackhawks with the team very reluctant to bring him up as soon as possible and allow him to develop with the ice hogs, some had expected this call as his coach is now the new head coach of the Blackhawks.
Nazar was drafted in 2022 by the Blackhawks, first round 13th pick overall. He is only played three games for the Blackhawks last year where he scored one goal and had 16 minutes of ice time.
It's likely that he will be centering the line for Bedard as Sorenson makes the attempt to kick start his offence and to help Bedard move things along while trying to recapture his Calder trophy winning season.
Nazar is currently leading the Icehogs as he has played 20 games, scored eleven goals with 13 assists for 24 points and has 6 penalty minutes.
It was reported earlier today that the Blackhawks had called up Kevin Korchinski and goaltender Drew Commesso with Petr Mrazek and defenseman Alec Martinez out with injury who could miss some time.
As mentioned earlier the Blackhawks will continue their Eastern Road Swing as they will take on the New York Islanders which will take place on December 12 and game time will be 7:30 PM eastern.
