Blackhawks legend Jeremy Roenick was having the time of his life and stealing the show at the hockey Hall of Fame legends game as he is one of the inductees to this year's Hall of Fame.

He has been so elated since being told, he even showed the Toronto crowd his dance moves as he skated around the ice playing to the crowd and loving life.

This past weekend the crowd was honored by many household names who will be inducted into the hockey Hall of Fame which include Pavel Datsyuk, Shea Weber, David Poile, Natalie Darwitz, Krissy Kendall, Colin Campbell and Blackhawks Jeremy Roenick.

Several prominent NHL executives including his former head coach Ken Hitchcock when he spent time with the Flyers in 2002 through 2004 gave some great remarks on what he brought to the game and why he belongs in the hockey Hall of Fame.

«When he was in Chicago, I hated him. And he hurt a lot of our players, and he was a reckless player. He was so competitive and so tough that you wanted him on your team but as an opponent I hated him.

Then all of a sudden, I'm coaching him,» he said. He had a competitive fire that was really, really unique for me because he had such passion. I don't know if he had passion for the game or passion for competing, but in big games, especially playoff games, he was always a big-time player.»

His friend and former teammate Chris Chelios who is also in the hockey Hall of Fame stated that roenick loved the camera and that his personality loved the attention.

«He loved the camera. He had license plates that were personalized. STYLES or something,» said Hall of Fame defenseman Chris Chelios, who was Roenick's teammate in Chicago from 1990-96.

«He was very outgoing, very approachable with the fans and that's why they loved him so much. It's not like I wasn't approachable and stuff, but Jeremy just loved it.»

The 54-year-old Roenick who was a staple with the Blackhawks after he began his career in 1988 was selected 8th overall and played for the team till 1996.

He also had stops with the Phoenix Coyotes, Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings and the San Jose Sharks. His stats speak for themselves as he had played 1363 games, scored 513 goals with 703 assists for 1216 points and was a + 153. He was also known for his toughness as he had 1463 in penalty minutes.

It's a long time coming but it's right that he is in the hockey Hall of Fame and seeing him enjoying life and enjoying the fact that he is going to be in the history books of hockey certainly makes many fans smile.
