Shattering news reveals Patrick Kane's future in Chicago

After a longtime career with the Chicago Blackhawks ended via a trade to the New York Rangers, it appears superstar winger Patrick Kane is heading home to where it all started.

Chicago Blackhawks reporter Scott Powers, who is with TheAthletic and a credentialed reporter for the organization has stated the Chicago Blackhawks front office will likely hold internal discussions over the next few weeks about re-signing Patrick Kane, to bring him back to Chicago.

I was confident they weren't going to re-sign him last summer. Up until a few weeks ago. I've heard enough in the past few weeks to believe that the Blackhawks are going to at least internally discuss whether to re-sign Kane.
Said Scott Powers
I'm sure he'd like to make a run at Stan Mikita's franchise points record (Kane needs 242 points to match Mikita) or be in a Blackhawks jersey as he goes after Mike Modano's career numbers as the top U.S.-born player.
Said Scott Powers.

Kane is set to hit the free agent market after coming off his one-year, $2.75M deal with the Detroit Red Wings that he signed this past November. Kane would reportedly be open to returning to Chicago, *IF* it is offered by general manager Kyle Davidson, Powers said.

The Blackhawks also made sure Kane's departure (when he was traded) was smooth as possible in case the opportunity were to arise of showtime returning to him stomping grounds, which seems to be unfolding in front of our eyes.
