The report released today by Ben Pope of the Chicago-Sun Times has given us an idea of how long Seth Jones will be out of the lineup.
According to Luke Richardson, Seth Jones will be out of the Blackhawks lineup for at least four weeks.
With Seth Jones being out of the lineup a month, it will fall to young players like Alex Vlasic to fill the void left by the veteran defenseman.
While Vlasic has thrived under the mentorship of Jones, there's no telling if he can live up to the same expectations as the team's top defenseman.
Jones played 26:12 against the Seattle Kraken, and came out of the game with a -2, 3 shots on goal and 26 shifts played.
Luke Richardson mentioned how tough it'll be without Jones in the lineup:
Already Luke Richardson is attempting to shift responsibilities, as Connor Murphy has been moved up to the top pairing with Alex Vlasic in Jones's absence.
Louis Crevier was called up as soon as Jones's injury was announced and will serve as an extra in the meantime.
Jones is in year 3 of his 8-year, $9.5 Million AAV contract and will miss a significant amount of time due to his injured foot.
It's one of the last things the Blackhawks need, is another laundry list of injured players.
