Chicago Blackhawks to surprise everyone with 2024 number two overall selection
The NHL draft is less than one month away and the chief of Barstool Sports feels that the Blackhawks will choose Arytom Levshunov with the number two pick over Ivan Demidov.
He mentions that Levshunov is much like Boston Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy as he stands at six two 210 lbs at the age of 18 years old. Defensemen appear to be the position of choice in this year's draft and the Blackhawks have a major decision to make.
After drafting Connor Bedard and Kevin Korchinski last year, general manager Kyle Davidson May feel that an offensive defenseman is in the cards to which Levshunov would be the choice.
According to eliteprospects.com, Levshunov plays at Michigan State University in the NCAA. The 18-year-old freshman play 38 games, scoring nine goals with 26 assists for 35 points with 44 penalty minutes and was a + 27.
Davidson seems to be keen on choosing physically large defenseman as it appears this is a formula that will help teams win the Stanley Cup.
Fans will have to wait till the end of June as the NHL Entry Draft will happen in Las Vegas NV at The Sphere. The first round will be held on June 28th at 7:00 PM eastern.
