Anthony Mantha of the Vegas Golden Knights has been generating interest including Kyle Davidson and the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Québécois forward, who is 6"5" and 240 pounds, has scored a total of 44 points this season( 23 G, 21 A) and spent the majority of the year with the Washington Capitals, concluding 2023-2024 with the Vegas Golden Knights.
He was sent to the Golden Knights for assets in return for a 2nd round pick in the 2024 Draft and 4th Round pick in the 2026 Draft.
Not Returning To Sin City
According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, when July 1st rolls around, he will not return to Vegas.
«Here's what we know so far: Forwards Michael Amadio,
William Carrier and Anthony Mantha will not be returning to Las Vegas. All three are aware and plan to test the free agent market on July 1.
Defenseman
Alec Martinez no longer seems to have a place on the blue line; he will be 37 at the end of July and he is said to be weighing his options.» -David Pagnotta
Mantha's current contract expires at the end of the season, which he signed with the Red Wings in 2020 with a cap hit of $5.7 Million AAV.
The 29-year-old power-forward will generate interest, considering the 2023-2024 season he scored 20+ goals.
When healthy he has scored upwards of 50, 60, and 72 points and was considered to be a key winger in the Red Wings system at one point.
Should Mantha be an affordable, veteran option, should Kyle Davidson and the Blackhawks pursue him?
