The Chicago Blackhawk and Winnipeg Jets are currently battling it out in the Canada Life Centre.

After all of the pageantry, and intro-songs for each Winnipeg Jet finished, the game started and really, it's not been very eventful.

That was until Connor Bedard hit the ice, and attempted to set Ilya Mikheyev with a shot attempt to the side of Jets goalie Connor Hellbuyck.

Unfortunately despite the showmanship, and the skill shown on ice, Mikheyev was denied.

The Winnipeg Jets currently have 6 shots on goal to the Chicago Blackhawks 2 tonight so far.

Bedard channeled his inner Patrick Kane to connect on that silky smooth pass and reminds us how much skill Bedard refuses to show when he plays a meat and potatoes game.

For now, the Blackhawks want to strike first, as the Winnipeg Jets have a winning record with the Blackhawks in their last 13 contests, as the Jets are 11-1-1.

The Winnipeg Jets will play their home opener Friday against the Chicago Blackhawks at Canada Life Centre. It'll be the 56th time these two organizations have square off against each other since 2000 and the Jets have the better record at 30-20-6 which includes an 11-1-1 record over their last 13 matchups.8 hours ago

Pionk Delivers a crushing hit to Bedard

In the beginning of the first period, Bedard would try and deke around the Jets' defense, and while you thought he'd be able to pull it off and make a play, the Jets' Neal Pionk put a quick stop to that.

He dumped Connor Bedard right on the ice, like an old-school hockey play.

While Bedard may still be in his sophomore year, we felt this hit through the screen and maybe, maybe Bedard should keep his head up or keep getting wrecked on the ice like Pionk did here at 12:59 in the 1st Period.

Wyatt Kaiser and Joey Anderson have the only shots on goal for the Blackhawks tonight so far.

With Ilya Mikheyev and Nick Foligno missing theirs.
