Connor Bedard Assist Puts the Blackhawks on top of the Anaheim Ducks
Connor Bedardhas been a big help tonight against the Anaheim Ducks already. He has already notched a point, which is his 10th of the season( 3 G, 7 A).
His assist came from the Isaak Phillips goal on the Anaheim Ducks goalie, Lukas Dostal. Which put the Blackhawks up 1-0 in the 1st period with 16:44 left in the first period.
This was the beginning of continued pressure on Dostal which led to the way of him giving up a 2nd goal to Teuvo Teravainen.
Bedard has been dry as far as points go in the last three games, other than his shoot-out goal in Los Angeles last night on the 2nd.
Is this a sign that the dam will break for the 1st overall pick in 2023?
The Blackhawks have looked competent tonight and kept the pressure in the Ducks' defensive zone, and not only thanks to Bedard but Alex Vlasic as well.
Frank Seravalli: «Well, you're doing fine. This year, how different does it feel? A lot more support, more vets, more players - just the vibe around the team to start this year?
Connor Bedard: «It feels good. We want to win. I think last year was really disappointing for us. We all went into the summer with a lot of motivation. We brought in a lot of guys that have done really well individually, but have also won. I think we brought in three or four guys that have won a (Stanley) Cup, or multiple cups. That's hard to find. And just with them coming in, they don't want to be on a losing team. And we're really driven every day. Our practices have been really high-paced. And in the games, I feel like we've played really well so far. Obviously, we've got to get more wins, but it definitely feels like we're going in the right direction.
Pressure? What pressure, he looked calm and collected when he dished the apple to Isaak Phillips tonight.
Isaak Phillips has 2 games played in the NHL this season as a call-up and has 1 point( 1 G) as of tonight's game against the Ducks.
Time to go Duck Hunting!
