The NHL referees are gaining infamy yet again after a controversial call may have given the Tampa Bay Lightning an edge against the Winnipeg Jets.

The call occurred when the Tampa Bay Lightning forward Conor Geekie took advantage of a scrum in front of Connor Hellebuyck, and would score a goal, or so he thought.

Originally, the referees who are often under extreme derision and hate from NHL fans, would review the play.

The referees would determine that the goal was good, and give the Lightning a chance to keep their head above water.

The Jets would take control of the game and proceed to shove three-goals down the Lightning's throat and secure the win, 7-4. Scott Arniel has taken advantage of the discipline that Bones left in the team last season and has rode the team into a 11-1-0 record.

One of the best in the NHL at the moment.

The Jets were able to secure the win, because the team is deep, and rolls three really great lines on the ice every night.

But even then this is another question of referee oversight, as it seems like goaltender interference here.

You need to have a team like the Jets who aren't afraid to play both sides of the ice, and remain competitive all year long.

They were able to play into a win not because of superstars on the roster because players like Kyle Connor is underrated. Hellebuyck is one piece in the Jets puzzle, and the rest of the squad came in to support one another, and the Blackhawks should take notes from the Jets.

This is how you pull through a tough game and win.
