Now Fanatics and Bedard work together to sell and ship, specialized merchandise to fans who are clamoring for memorabilia of the former Calder Trophy winner.
A recent story post in a "Greater Toronto Area" Facebook group has proven that the partnership isn't as advertised.
A fan bought a "Funk Pop" bobblehead that was autographed by Bedard, but he wasn't happy with the merchandise.
As you can see, the auto isn't really an autograph, as the item has been marked with is a line on the clear box of the packaging.
This kind of laziness happens when athletes are forced to sign hundreds, upon hundreds of items.
We understand that the work can become stale, and boring but keep in mind the joy it brings the fans. Bedard during his rookie season went out of his way to make fans happy, and we've plenty of videos where he'd make time to sign a young fan's item.
So where is the joy in signing for all of his fans?
It's understandable he'd want to practice a shot ten thousand times to perfect it, but as far as his autograph to fulfill a deal between himself and Fanatics?
Absolutely not!
If I were this fan, I'd be understandably upset with the quality control from Fanatics, and how it ever escaped Bedard's gaze.
While he is a former Calder Trophy winner who scored 22 goals and 61 points last season, it's merely a piece of merchandise that pays his bills.
It's honestly early in his career to fumble such a simple job as this one!
