Emotional behind the scenes footage shows Nick Foligno being named captain of the Blackhawks
The Chicago Blackhawks have made Nick Foligno the franchise's 35th Captain since its inception in 1926.
They made the announcement very special for the de-facto Captain of the team, as his children brought out the jersey, with the "C" on it.
This happened after Kyle Davidson made the announcement, that they were running back the previous leadership core in Seth Jones, Connor Murphy, and Nick Foligno, all as Alternate Captains.
But Foligno has established himself as the leader in Chicago, and Seth Jones is familiar with Foligno's leadership as they played together for a significant amount of time in Columbus.
The moment was captured on the Blackhawks YouTube show "Every Shift" and stated how elated to be working with the group he is in Chicago.
He realized that the team has high standards and wanted to push the Blackhawks into winning territory once more.
In 74 games with the Blackhawks, he posted 37 points( 17 G, 20 A) and was used in multiple situations, including the power-play.
Nick Foligno is likely holding the Captaincy until Bedard assumes the role.
