Former Blackhawk turned Canadiens forward Kirby Dach confirms a major rumor
Former Chicago Blackhawks winger Kirby Dach missed nearly the entire season in 2023-2024, due to an ACL, and MCL injury.
He will return to the ice for 2024-2025 in the hopes he can regain his game. But he will have new faces to connect with in Montreal, including Patrik Laine and Alex Newhook, in what could be a lethal combination of talent.
This should bode well for the Martin St. Louis' offensive designs, as a healthy and formidable 2nd line should help push the Canadiens further into competitive territory.
in 2022-2023, the winger played 58 games with the Canadiens, scoring 38 points( 14 G, 24 A) which was a career year for Dach.
For St. Louis and the Habs' best hopes, Dach will return to the ice in the best of health, ready to find the game he'd hoped he would have had in Chicago.
Is Dach another late bloomer from the 2019 NHL Draft? Dach was selected 3rd overall by the Blackhawks?
Or will he turn out to be a bust like Kaapo Kakko?
It is up to him to decide where he will end up next, but seeing him healthy and will new weapons to utilize this should be a win for the Habs.
The third player taken in the 2019 draft was in the NHL as an 18-year-old and shows increasing flashes of why he was so highly regarded as he moves into his early 20s. He is big, skates well and is strong on the puck, a trait that should get even better as he matures. Is an excellent passer but must learn to take more shots in order to keep opponents from dropping off him in coverage. Has been plagued by injuries, including a broken wrist.
