MAJOR: Blackhawks make an unexpected move with injured Connor Bedard
As Team Canada gears up for its first men's World Championship pre-tournament game against Austria this Sunday, all eyes are on Connor Bedard.
The young talent has faced multiple injuries this season, including a broken jaw that he's still recovering from. Despite concerns, the Chicago Blackhawks have agreed to send him overseas for the tournament.
With Bedard's participation, Blackhawks fans are hopeful but cautious, considering his young age and injury history. Typically, rookies spend the off-season hitting the gym, but Bedard's focus remains on hockey. Kirby Dach chose to join Team Canada when he was with the Blackhawks organization, and unfortunately ended early for Dach as he broke his wrist.
Fans eagerly await the announcement of the initial roster, which will include Bedard alongside hockey greats like Sidney Crosby.
The Pittsburgh Penguins star will be joining Bedard in representing Team Canada, providing a glimmer of excitement for fans whose teams didn't make it to the NHL playoffs.
Having both players return to action before the NHL playoffs end is seen as a blessing, injecting some much-needed energy and excitement into the hockey world.
