The Chicago Blackhawks cracks are starting to show early today, as the Los Angeles Kings cracked Petr Mrazek early.

Thanks to a tripping penalty by Craig Smith at 3:34 into the 1st period, the Kings had a means of striking first.

They took every advantage that the Blackhawks gave them, and one of them was Seth Jones.

Who on the Penalty Kill, should know better than missing his assignment of leaving his goalie open?

To which, he did at 16:06 you can see the degradation of the play continue, as Jones leaves Anze Kopitar open to capitalize on the space given to him.

As a result, Alex Laferriere would score his 7th goal of the year, a power-play goal against Petr Mrazek and the Blackhawks.

The lapses in defensive play are unacceptable for a team whose been playing terribly lately.

Especially since GM Kyle Davidson claimed they were more competitive this season. Is Luke Richardson turning him into a liar?!

It's not a great look for a veteran NHL defenseman who has seen more than enough postseason play during his time in Columbus that he would be out of position on special teams.

With someone like T.J. Brodie failing to play up to expectations, will the Blackhawks have to sit Seth Jones at some point this season as well?

The team is currently paying top dollar for Seth Jones, with a $9.5 Million dollar AAV and it seems he's not up to the task.

This season the Blackhawks' Jones has seven points, on one goal and six assists. Jones attempts 2.7 shots per game and converts 3.3% of them.

If that is me, and I'm a GM it seems like Jones needs a fresh start no matter the cost. Retain money, and bring in a third-team to facilitate the trade.

He seems disengaged from meaningful play.
