Now that the #1 defenseman in the Chicago Blackhawks system has returned, Head Coach Anders Sorensen has had to make a move.
That is putting prospect Louis Crevier on the bench. Crevier was recalled from the Rockford IceHogs, after Seth Jones was placed on IR on November 16th, shortly after his right foot injury happened.
This season, Crevier has only played 7 games for the Blackhawks and has 1 goal to his name.
Though in his last contest against the Seattle Kraken, he'd take 4 PIMs, and play 26 shifts, and 17:45 TOI that night.
Now, with Seth Jones re-entering the lineup, the Blackhawks can ease their mind as the status quo on the blueline returns.
Seth Jones started the season out on a 49-point pace, scoring 10 points( 2 G, 8 A), and injured his foot blocking a shot from a Seattle Kraken player.
This season he's only played 17 games for the Blackhawks and will play multiple scenarios today against the Calgary Flames.
According to DailyFaceOff, he'll slot in on the 2nd-power-play unit, and the 2nd penalty-kill unit, as his protege' Alex Vlasic remains on PP1.
Initially, Jones was received with mixed emotions and hasn't been a fan favorite during his time in Chicago.
He was awarded a hefty contract by GM Stan Bowman with a $9.5 Million AAV and people have felt he hadn't lived up to his end of the bargain.
But with his mentorship of Alex Vlasic and his solid multi-role play with the Blackhawks' the talk of his overpayment, has dwindled.
Jones will be on the top-pairing today, as Vlasic flanks him from the left.
