the Blackhawks have a much better prospect than Canadiens' Ivan Demidov
The Chicago Blackhawks had the better draft pick in 2024 in the 1st round, compared to the Montreal Canadiens.
Why? Well, firstly Ivan Demidov may have been Matvei Michkov's teammate, but the majority of his time in the MHL, which could be considered the 4th best hockey league in the world.
While he did score 60 points in 30 games, he hasn't gotten any accolades of note and hasn't faced up against tough opponents, like Levshunov.
Whereas, Levshunov is a tested defenseman, who won Big Ten Rookie of The Year iin 2024, and Defensive Player of the Year as well too.
He posted 35 points(9 G, 26 A) 2nd on the Spartans in points as well.
One of these guys played in the KHL and was nominated for rookie of the year. The other played decent in the MHL against guys who will end up as PE teachers at their local high schools.
Demidov has only played 6 games in the KHL, and has yet to crack the SKA St. Petersburg lineup during his time with the club.
There's a lot of hype surrounding Demidov, but it's untold whether he will find the same success as his former teammate, now Philadelphia Flyers' winger, Matvei Michkov.
