Despite leading all NHL rookies in points this season with 39, when issues arise and your hard work is undone, it can be disheartening.
Bedard has had three goals disallowed, including two this month.
It was so outrageous that Spittin' Chiclets' own Ryan Whitney took exception to his first disallowed goal against the Boston Bruins in late October. As he saw it, the NHL did Bedard wrong by taking it away by being "offside", and he may be right.
Another goal was waved off against the Carolina Hurricanes as the fumbles continued.
With 7:36 remaining on Saturday, another goal was waived off against the Ottawa Senators.
A smiling Connor Bedard on having three disallowed goals this season: «Yeah, it's nuts, ay? I don't know, I guess Toronto doesn't like me too much. No, it's out of my control and obviously you try not to get frustrated by it.» #Blackhawks Charlie Roumeliotis (@CRoumeliotis) February 20, 2024
The team would seem to be on the struggle bus, with three different disallowed goals.
Although Bedard joked about Toronto being out to get him, he couldn't let it get to him.
In the end, he chose instead to face everything head-on and keep pushing forward.
Since returning, Bedard has tallied six points with two goals and four assists in three games.
Although he could've had eight, he is always striving to improve instead of dwelling on his shortcomings.
