Will Connor Bedard be the next Blackhawks Captain?
Connor Bedard is only 19 years old and finished his first season the in NHL with 61 points. He also secured himself as the best rookie in 2023, winning the Calder Trophy above favorite and Minnesota Wild defenseman Brock Faber.
But as 2024-2025 begins to take shape, we have to wonder about his sophomore season in the NHL.
He will have better linemates in 2024, as the Blackhawks signed Teuvo Teraveinen, Tyler Bertuzzi, and Taylor Hall could return as an option for the center as well.
Could we see him earn the Captaincy in 2025 to put the cherry on top?
We can tell by his mannerisms that he is a dedicated Blackhawk, and stories of his neverending practice inspire greatness everywhere.
Why not in the Blackhawks locker room as well?
It's arguable that Nick Foligno is the team's unofficial, de-facto Captain which I will not contest.
But Foligno isn't the face of the franchise and is here to make the Blackhawks better inside and out, providing more than on-ice play and that is also to hand the laurels of leadership to new blood.
In all honesty, it doesn't seem like it'd happen any other way.
Toews' tenure as Captain will forever be memorable, but enough time has passed to see the Blackhawks in a different light, as GM Kyle Davidson has built a Blackhawks team, that will either way be lead by Bedard, now or later.
Also, we shouldn't pay attention bad takes like this.
