Corey Perry takes on a new role with the Oilers organization
Corey Perry wasn't on ice during Game 1 against the Dallas Stars, as the Edmonton Oilers defeated the Stars handily.
Veteran Corey Perry has been benched since Game 6 and 7 against the Vancouver Canucks and Coach Kris Knoblauch hasn't given Perry ice time since.
Perry has had to find a new way to adjust to the role, as an extra skater as a result.
As seen below, Perry was present, but he was welcoming back his teammates to the locker-room after this victory against the Stars.
The Stars were unable to shut the door on the Oilers in Game 1 and Perry more or less has resolved to provide moral support for the boys.
You can see him high-fiving the rest of the team as they make their way back after an exhausting Game 1.
The Oilers defeated the Stars 3-2, with Perry riding the pine.
