Max Domi violently jumps NHL rookie after clean hit on Auston Matthews
In a game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the New Jersey Devils, Max Domi defended his teammate Auston Matthews, at Scotiabank Arena.
Domi, known for his scrappy play, fought against New Jersey's Simon Nemec when he saw him roughing up Matthews.
After the game, Domi said:
"I saw Auston and the other guy on Jersey fighting, and I didn't like it, so I stepped in."
Matthews thanked Domi for his actions, saying:
"He's all about the team. He always stands up for his teammates."
Domi also setup Matthews to score two goals during the game.
