Macklin Celebrini exposes text messages between him and Blackhawks Connor Bedard
With the NHL Entry Draft fast approaching the future 1st overall pick, Macklin Celebrini revealed a surprising interaction between himself and this Hawks player.
During the NHL Scouting Combine, the future 1st Overall pick Macklin Celebrini has a mass amount of hype surrounding him. Expected to be the next big star in the San Jose Sharks system, it led to a surprising message from former 1st overall pick in Connor Bedard.
Boston University center Macklin Celebrini, the likely No. 1 pick, meeting media at the Combine. He talked about fellow North Vancouver native Connor Bedard reaching to say call anytime if he has any questions about how to handle all the draft hype
While Bedard has had more scrutiny, and eyes on him even a year after his draft date, there's no doubt that Bedard gave Celebrini advice on how to handle the pressure.
Celebrini did mention he also had dinner with GM Mike Grier and the San Jose Sharks.
"He was awesome. We went out to dinner one night," Celebrini said. "He has a great personality and we had a lot of jokes. It was cool."
Like Bedard, Celebrini is the consensus 1st overall pick in this year's draft and could help the Sharks solve some of their offensive woes, alongside William Eklund.
There's no word on what was officially said between the two centerman, but I imagine there's a lot Bedard had to share to help Celebrini when he arrives in the NHL.
