Tough news for the Chicago Blackhawks first overall pick
The NHL Entry Draft is months away, as we await the lottery for who gets the 1st overall draft pick in 2024.
Teams are eager to build their teams with the best talent available with College, Juniors, and Foreign talent available.
The Blackhawks won the lottery last year and Connor Bedard has changed the franchise for the better.
This season, however, Macklin Celebrini is the player who is sought after by many GMs across the league.
With Chicago winning the lottery last year, they can only win it one more time, as teams are allowed to win twice in 5 years.
This year, the Blackhawks may have the luck of the draw, as they have as of April 14th, the Blackhawks have a 13.5% chance of winning the NHL lottery draft this season.
The Blackhawks sat third in 2023, with an 11.5% chance of picking Connor Bedard, but managed to win it out over the Anaheim Ducks and Columbus Blue Jackets.
While they may have some of the better odds this year it is not a given.
So it's suggested not to get your hopes up of picking Macklin Celebrini this draft.
