Buffalo Sabres star Rasmus Dahlin was slapped with a very questionable 10 minute misconduct penalty Tuesday night against the Blackhawks. Philipp Kurashev had just scored a goal to bring the Blackhawks within a goal early in the third period, and Dahlin skated right between McCabe and Lafferty celebrating to get to the official.
It appears that Dahlin was upset about a penalty not being called right before the Blackhawks scored and was trying to get to the referee to get an explanation. It is unclear if Dahlin said something that earned him a penalty or if the referee thought he was breaking up the celebration and trying to cause a fight.
With the way the officiating has been this season, it is not surprising to see Dahlin get a short leash in this situation. What do you think? Should this have been a penalty?
