A Member of The Athletic puts Michkov over Bedard as 1.
As every draft approaches, all NHL pundits and analysts of the game give their thoughts and rankings of each player who is available to be drafted.
Most of the time, they are usually correct in who will be selected in which order. Many go off the board and state something a little unusual or wrong. But overall, it's a lot of fun to watch and listen to where people think these players will be on the draft board.
Corey Pronman, an NHL analyst who works for The Athletic feels that
Matvei Michkov, the right-wing phenom from Russia should go first overall compared to
Connor Bedard has been pegged as number one by essentially everyone in the game.
Now to be fair, Pronman is professing who he feels should be #1 based on what he has seen as he watched Michkov play fairly often. It's unlikely that the Chicago Blackhawks will select Michkov over Bedard.
I also feel that Michkov will be an outstanding winger for this league and he has been compared to the next
Alexander Ovechkin.
Knowing that this draft is one of the deepest in the last 20 years, I think many teams are in for a treat along with their fan base to see these generational talents emerge onto the NHL stage.
