Another Blackhawks' name appearing in trade talks
With names like Marc-Andre Fleury, Brandon Hagel and Calvin de Haan being on NHL Trade Lists for months now, it's not surprise that another name has started to pop up in more conversations. According to Frank Seravelli, of The Daily Faceoff, Ryan Carpenter's name has begun to circulate in NHL Trade Circles.
Carpenter has begun to percolate on the list of potential fits for playoff teams. His salary cap hit is the right price, he's been on a deep playoff run before in Vegas, and he's reliable. Would a reunion with Gerard Gallant in Manhattan be in order? Carpenter is a hard-working, defensive-minded center who blocks shots, wins draws, kills penalties and is always in the right position in the defensive zone. Sounds like a prototypical deadline acquisition.
Ryan Carpenter, who is an unrestricted free agent after this season, and his salary of $1,000,000 fits with most teams budgets. Given his experience Carpenter could be a very valuable add to many different teams.
Carpenter could likely be had for a mid-round pick, which could benefit the Hawks as they begin their rebuild.
