Hinostroza's NHL journey began in the 2015-16 season when he was called up by the Blackhawks after starting in Rockford. His debut against the Columbus Blue Jackets marked the start of a career that saw him contribute to various teams in the league.
Notably, during the 2016-17 season, Hinostroza scored his first NHL goal against the Vancouver Canucks and showcased his offensive capabilities with a two-goal performance against the Colorado Avalanche on Jan. 17, 2017.
His time with the Blackhawks included a split in the 2017-18 season between the NHL team and Rockford. In that period, he played 50 NHL games, exhibiting his skills with a noteworthy three-point game against the Vegas Golden Knights on Jan. 5, 2018.
Although Hinostroza agreed to a two-year contract with Chicago in June 2018, he was traded to the Arizona Coyotes on July 12, where he had a productive 2018-19 season, amassing 39 points (16 goals, 23 assists) in 72 games.
Now, placed on waivers, Hinostroza faces an uncertain future in the NHL as teams will have the opportunity to claim him. Should the Blackhawks?
The waiver process will determine the next chapter in his professional hockey journey.
