In a surprising turn of events, Joel Quenneville is set to make his return to the NHL. Respected insider and Sportsnet reporter Eric Engels broke the news earlier today. Quenneville is currently attending a significant meeting taking place in Chicago.
Here in Chicago, where NHL general managers and coaches are conducting a one-day meeting. Also in attendance are Stan Bowman and Joel Quenneville, who will address the group at some point this morning.
Quenneville left the NHL in 2021 while working with the Florida Panthers, following his implication in the Kyle Beach scandal. Quenneville is widely regarded as a top-notch coach. While there are currently no coaching vacancies in the NHL, Gary Bettman has given his approval for Quenneville's return.
