Taylor Hall was acquired for almost nothing as a result of the Boston Bruins dumping their salary cap. With a win-of-trade by Kyle Davidson, he was able to acquire a top-six forward who was considered one of the best trades in the NHL at the time.

As unfortunate as this trade seems, there may be more to it than meets the eye, since Taylor Hall will be unable to play because of a lower body injury.

#Blackhawks' Taylor Hall misses first day of training camp with lower-body injury:

He missed the first day of training camp with his new team without making an official announcement about what ails him.

The head coach of the team, Luke Richardson, did not seem to be alarmed by Hall's injury, but there is no update on the status of the player at this time.

"I don't think so, but we're going to just defer till we get more information on that," Richardson said when asked whether he's concerned about it being more than a day-to-day injury. "It's only Day 1, so hopefully tomorrow or the next few days we'll know more."

Richardson doesn't think Taylor Hall or Colin Blackwell's injuries are too significant but they'll get more info in the coming days.

The goal for Taylor Hall is to recover, while Ryan Donato will fill in next to Connor Bedard for the time being.
