As the NHL season approaches and training camp is set to commence in mid-September, it is customary for TSN to engage in a conversation with the first overall pick of the recent summer's draft. The purpose is to pose 98 questions covering a range of topics, aimed at providing insights into the player's personality.

This season, the spotlight falls on Connor Bedard, who, as we all know, was selected as the top pick. Since his name was announced on May 8th, the attention from both media and fans has been unrelenting. TSN conducted a rapid-fire question session, featuring some lighthearted inquiries.

The first question set a humorous tone, as Bedard was asked about the weirdest chirp he has ever received while playing hockey. He chuckled and shared a memory of being called a "turd" when he was just 10 years old. It's evident that he has come a long way from those early days and is poised to become the face of the NHL within the next five years.

During his tenure with the Regina Pats, Bedard's statistics have been nothing short of remarkable. Throughout 57 games, he managed to score an impressive 71 goals and provide 72 assists, accumulating a total of 143 points. Additionally, he accrued 62 penalty minutes and achieved a plus-minus rating of 39.

While the Blackhawks organization might dream of such numbers in its debut year, it is important to note that such expectations are quite extraordinary. Nevertheless, it is reasonable to anticipate a fantastic season from Bedard, which will undoubtedly leave a strong first impression on the rest of the league.
