Blackhawks Head Coach Lost His Child to Suicide & Plans to Support Hawks With Mental Health Greatly
Richardson played 21 seasons as a NHL defenseman, he ranks 10th all time on the list of defenseman's games played and he also has a silver and gold medal at the Olympics.
Richardson has coached for the Ottawa Senators, Team Canada, New York Islanders, Montreal Canadiens and now he is on to a new journey in Chicago.
Most know his past, but not his personal past. Today, Wednesday June 29th Luke shared a personal story and how it'll connect to the Blackhawks. He lost a child to suicide and plans to make sure the players are heard and are pleased, on a emotional factor as well.

�'Losing a child to suicide, Luke said the overwhelming support he received made the biggest impact.
Because of that, he plans on making sure the players are heard and is pleased with how big of an emphasis the Blackhawks are putting on mental health.''
