The Blackhawks made a splash on draft day with the trades of Alex DeBrincat and Kirby Dach. While general manager Kyle Davidson took a lot of heat from the fanbase for the moves, he was able to make a few quality draft picks with the returns from the trades. One pick has really stood out from the rest of the pack during training camp and rookie camp. That player is Kevin Korchinski.
Korchinksi has earned high praise from numerous players and coaches alike for his abilities and skill shown in such a short period of time. Seth Jones stated «the way he handles the puck, his vision on the ice, the way he skates is very exceptional. He's going to be a great player in this league.»
Korchinski has shown his puck handling and passing ability in the preseason. He had a few exceptional passes, one that resulted in a Lukas Reichel breakaway goal. While Korchinski won't be with the Blackhawks this season, he has made a great first impression with the team and will hopefully improve even more throughout the season.
