Blackhawks defenseman shows his love for his former captain.
The response across the NHL and the respective fanbases has been incredible towards the outgoing captain and forward Jonathan Toews of the Blackhawks.
Many people valued him as one of the best captains in NHL history, including the leadership he brought to the team, especially when the team was rebuilding along with the three Stanley Cup rings and other accolades attached to him.
Many of his former teammates have expressed how much they appreciate and love this man for being their captain and their friend. Blackhawks defenseman Connor Murphy expressed his view toward Toews on Twitter giving him the resounding love and respect that he so rightfully deserves.
What does Toews have in mind for next season as he will no longer be part of the Blackhawks organization? Some feel, that he may hang up his skates and call it a career, or some may think he might play for another team. My gut tells me he will probably hang up his skates and retire as a Blackhawk.
He's still a very young man and could land a role with either the organization or the NHL. I think an ambassador role with the Blackhawks would be in order.
