Bruins goaltender gets tossed trying to fight Tkachuk
When commenting about this Bruins-Panthers series, one word comes to mind Physical. The Florida Panthers are pegged as the severe underdogs against the Bruins.
The Bruins are the number-one team in the NHL this season on all fronts. One tact that Panthers head coach Paul Maurice was planning to use was physicality against the Bruins.
It has certainly not been a disappointing series in that aspect. The Panthers have been using any advantage they can to outhit or even challenge the Bruins to fights to try to wear down their defences and give them a chance to score some goals.
During Game 4, while many Bruins players and Panthers were in fights and scrums, Panthers forward and superstar Matthew Tkachuk decided to challenge Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark to a fight in which Ullmark dropped his gloves and accepted the challenge.
It was quickly disbanded by the linesman and the referee as it's not too often you see a goaltender challenge a star forward. However, with the heated energy in the building and with so many fights and penalties being assessed it doesn't surprise me that this was going to happen.
The Bruins won the game 6-2 and head home to play Game 5. It will be held on Tuesday, April 26th at 7:00 PM Eastern.
