In a surprising turn of events, Patrick Kane, one of the most sought-after free agents of the season, has decided to play with the Detroit Red Wings on a one-year deal.
Coincidentally, the Red Wings are set to face Kane's former long-time NHL team, the Chicago Blackhawks, tonight. However, Blackhawks' Head Coach Luke Richardson expressed relief with a smile, noting that they won't have to face Kane in this particular matchup.
A smiling Luke Richardson on Patrick Kane not playing vs. Chicago: «We don't need to see him. We're happy that he has to take a few days. We'll see him in February when he's in town. Once is enough.»
Richardson humorously mentioned that they're happy Kane has to take a few days, anticipating a face-off with him in February when he's in town. Kane is expected to make his debut next week when he faces off against his hometown team, the Buffalo Sabres.
