One topic that keeps coming up around the NHL is what they do in other sports called "Load Management" what is load management you ask?

Load management is essentially a fancy term for that. It means giving a player a night off during an 82-game NBA season in hopes of preserving him for the playoffs.
Something that works in basketball but hockey players have been against it completely.
It's hard to imagine any NHL coach resting a healthy star player in November - those two points are worth the same as two in April, and they might be the two that keep you out of the postseason or force you to play Game 7 on the road in the third round. But is that an accurate risk assessment? Nope.
Not to mention the fans. We pay are hard earn money to go cheer on our favorite teams and player and find out they just took the night off not for injury just because wouldn't sit well with many of us. Boston Bruins forward who's never been afraid to speak his mind for better or worse,
"This Ain't The NBA Take That Soft Sh*t Elsewhere!"
