Bruins Announcer Releases Statement After Body Shaming Pat Maroon
On Tuesday night when the Boston Bruins took on the Tampa Bay Lightning in Boston, the Boston Bruins commentator by the name of Jack Edwards got himself into some serious hot water, but it was not the first time the Bruins announcer made questionable comments.
Edwards has been known for making triggering comments in the past, and some even being quite disturbing, one time he spoke about somebodies sister during a Bruins game in a very disrespectful way, way to be professional.. right?
Well, on Tuesday he crossed another line, making rude comments towards Tampa Bay Lightning forward
Patrick Maroons body, who is a 3-time Stanley Cup Champion.
''
Steven Stamkos actually showed me the video. I was in the shower (after the game),» Maroon recalled. ''When our teammates are saying it's pretty bad, it must be pretty bad. Right?
Just listen to his disrespectful and unnecessary words below:
Patrick Maroon handled this and decided to take the high road with it, and he killed it! Maroon donated $2,000 in the name of Jack Edwards to a foundation, and recommended all fans to do the same.
Maroon has raised over $60,000 so far in this fundraising journey, and it's still growing, so take that Jack Edwards! What an amazing way to shove it right back in his face, the right and respectful way.
A writer for the Athletic news site (theathletic) by the name of Fluto Shinzawa on twitter released an article surrounding the comments surrounding Pat Maroon, and even managed to get a response statement from Bruins announcer Jack Edwards, check it out below:
