Thursday night marked an end of an era for the Chicago Blackhawks and possibly the greatest captain in franchise history, Captain Serious Jonathan Toews. The 34 year-old played his last game as a member of the Blackhawks.
Toews was drafted by the Blackhawks 3rd Overall in the 2006 NHL draft helping lead the Blackhawks to 3 Stanley Cups. With the Blackhawks General Manager Kyle Davidson trading away most of the roster to rebuild the writing on the wall for Toews not returning next season.
We don't know if this is the end for Toews, who's health issues have been well documented if this is the end of his NHL career he got to go out on his own terms infront of the fans in the United Center.
I love you, Chicago. This is my home, you'll always be in my heart."
Jonathan Toews with a final lap and a thank you for @NHLBlackhawks fans. ❤️
