Conor Bedard was a Chicago fan favorite long before he was even drafted. The clips of his speed and skill were all over the internet, filling Blackhawks fans with hope for the future, and dampening the blows of losing their star players.
Now, after seeing the young phenom alongside seasoned NHLers, seeing that not only can he hold his own, but excel, that hope grows even stronger - especially when Bedard himself says we have yet to see him at his best.
The Blackhawks won their first preseason game in OT versus the St. Louis Blues. With a score of 2-1, Bedard, alone, had 2 assists. Sure, it's preseason, and all the clubs are using rookies and prospects, but Conor was up against a number of veteran Blues, as well, such as Robert Thomas, Pavel Buchnevich, and more.
It's no secret that this 18 year old kid is already a star. But his work ethic and humility will make him a legend.
