Connor Bedard's Special Quality That Will hype-up fans
The Chicago Blackhawks will usher in a new era of hockey with Connor Bedard at the helm. With Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews leaving the organization, Bedard is leading the way and generating a lot of buzz.
Bedard's special qualities: what makes him stand out? In each issue, The Athletic asks Blackhawks and their teammates about each other. In an interview with Kevin Korchinski, a first-round draft pick in 2022, Korchinski was asked what made Bedard special.
«His shot's something that's highly spoken of, but it's just his ability to make plays, and his poise with the puck. It just seems like he always makes the right play,» Korchinski told The Athletic on Wednesday. «And whether you see the play develop or you don't, he makes the right one. He's obviously really special.»
Bedard was praised by Korchinski for his ability to make plays with the puck.
That would explain Bedard's excellent performances in the IIHF tournaments during the World Junior Championships. During his time with Team Canada, Bedard broke many records, scoring 9 goals and totaling 23 points in seven games.
With a different size and quality of players than were found in the WHL or IIHF, Bedard will have new challenges to overcome in the NHL.
It's just a matter of time before Bedard becomes a superstar in the league.
