Corey Perry's time with the Chicago Blackhawks officially ended when his contract was terminated at 2 PM Eastern Time on Wednesday, after clearing waivers. Perry is now a free agent as the Blackhawks found issues with his behavior that goes against team rules.
Insider Chris Johnston mentioned that Perry can dispute the termination within 60 days if he decides to challenge the decision. Johnston said:
Perry's time with the Blackhawks began this summer when he was acquired from the Tampa Bay Lightning. He later signed a one-year, $4-million contract with Chicago. In his first season with the team, Perry scored four goals and had five assists in 16 games.
Throughout his lengthy career of 1,273 games, Perry has scored 421 goals and accumulated 892 points. He played for the Anaheim Ducks, Dallas Stars, Montreal Canadiens, Tampa Bay Lightning, and, most recently, the Chicago Blackhawks.
