The Minnesota Wild General Manager Bill Guerin was hoping to re-sign pending unrestricted free agent Marc Andre Fleury to a new deal and he did just that re-signing Flower to a two year contract extension.
The only issue is that was Bill Guerin didn't discuss anything with Wild's other goaltender Cam Talbot. Talbot was the Wild's number one until Fleury came over at the trade deadline.
Hockey Insider Darren Dreger revealed: "Minnesota has acknowledged they plan on going with a Fleury/Talbot tandem. Discussions with Talbot and his agents expected tomorrow to make sure the veteran goalie is on board with that."
Talbot was 32-12-4 last season with a 2.77 goals against average and .911 Save percentage. Talbot has one year left on his current contract that pays him $3.66 million dollars.
