TSN broadcaster Kevin Weekes thought he broke some pretty intense news today on Marc-Andre Fleury. He tweeted in his usual fashion that the Minnesota Wild had re-signed the star goalie.
But... he jumped the gun! He had to delete his tweet and update it with the correct news that the deal wasn't consummated yet.
It has been rumored that Fleury was tied to trades with the Washington Capitals, Toronto Maple Leafs, Edmonton Oilers, and the Colorado Avalanche, if Darcy Kuemper didn't sign with Colorado. Which he didn't, since the Av's traded for Alexandar Georgiev on draft day.
Let's only hope that Kevin Weekes hasn't lost his confidence in calling breaking news. There were some hilarious tweets making some fun of what happened with the Fleury tweet.
We're sure that Weekes will keep doing his thing and we look forward to his next breaking news segment... from wherever he may be!
