Richardson played 21 seasons as a NHL defenseman, he ranks 10th all time on the list of defenseman's games played and he also has a silver and gold medal at the Olympics.
Richardson has coached for the Ottawa Senators, Team Canada, New York Islanders, Montreal Canadiens and now he is on to a new journey in Chicago.
Most know his past, but not his personal past. After being hired by the Blackhawks Luke shared a personal story and how it'll connect to the Blackhawks. He lost a child to suicide and plans to make sure the players are heard and are pleased, on a emotional factor as well.
