As the 1st overall pick in the NHL entry draft, experts are busy predicting how many points Bedard will score during the 2023-2024 season.
It's not always so easy to predict, since Connor McDavid and Sidney Crosby weren't so predictable either, during their first seasons.
In his first NHL season, Jeff Marek of the 32 Thoughts Podcast predicted Bedard would score 66 points. When it comes to rookies, he said he would maintain a conservative line, which would be impressive for a rookie.
Since the regular season will be more challenging than the pre-season, Marek is being conservative.
The Blackhawks Talk Podcast's Pat Boyle believes Bedard will score 28 goals, 81 assists, and 89 points in his first season. Last season, power-play usage and league goals per game reached an all-time high.
In Nick Faris' opinion, Bedard will match Kane's 72 point season, with the likes of Taylor Hall, Corey Perry, Andreas Athanasiou, Nick Foligno and Ryan Donato surrounding him.
According to DraftKings and Bet365, Bedard will score between 67.5 and 69.5 points in the 2023-2024 NHL season. Given his role as a top offensive player, Neil Parker of Sportsbook Reviews gives him 72 points.
Michael Amato of SportsNet has him at 70 points, while Tony Ferrari of the Hockey News has him at 75. Likewise, Jon Littleline of Rotowire has him around 65-70 points.
According to unofficial consensus among Fantasy Analysts, Hockey Media, and Gambling Sites, Bedard will not post less than 60 points.
