If it wasn't for an early season winning streak, the Blackhawks season would be looking a lot worse than it currently is. Whether you're rooting for a rebuild or rooting for the boys to stick it to management and win as much as they can, things may look significantly different in Chicago very soon. With that being said, let's use the all-star break to review some of the Blackhawks' brightest players' performances through the first half of the season.
Max Domi has been a great addition this offseason for the Blackhawks. Domi has surely benefited from playing with Patrick Kane recently, but he has been fueling the Blackhawks offense all season. Domi currently leads the team with 35 points and is tied with Jonathan Toews and Taylor Raddysh for the team lead in goals with 14.
Domi also ranks second in ice time per game with 18:16 a night, only trailing Patrick Kane's 19:48 of ice time. Domi only signed a one-year deal as a free agent this past summer for $3 million. Domi may have a chance to break his career high of 72 points if he gets moved to a contender at the deadline. Regardless, Domi is having his best offensive season since 2019-2020 season with Montreal.
Domi's main reason for coming to Chicago in free agency was for a reunion with coach Luke Richardson. Domi loves playing for Richardson and has taken a great liking to Chicago in his short time here this season.
Whether Domi stays or is moved by the deadline, I wouldn't rule out a resigning after the conclusion of the season. Domi has been one of the few bright spots in the lineup this season and I hope he decides to stick around for an extended stay in Chicago.
