Centerman John Hayden has had his suitcase packed for several years. The 28-year-old forward has played for five NHL organizations in his seven years with the league. Well, he will be packing his bags again as the Seattle Kraken and have placed him on waivers.

Hayden spent his first three seasons with the Blackhawks when they drafted him in the 2013 NHL draft, in the third round, 74th choice overall. His large size and physical play was an asset the Blackhawks were looking for. He stands at 6 foot 3 and 223 pounds.

His primary role would be in the bottom 6, it would be defensively responsible for shutting down the opposition's top lines along with penalty killing.

He spent 47 games with the Coachella Valley Firebirds in the AHL this year. He scored seventeen goals, with 16 assists for 33 points and had 58 penalty minutes and was a + 10.

With the Blackhawks having an absurd amount of cap space to work with this season, could a player like John Hayden make a comeback with the Hawks as they will need bottom-six depth to compete for next year's season?

His cap hit according to capfriendly.com had only a one-year deal with the Kraken and was worth $750,000. I think General Manager Kyle Davidson would look at this player as a possible return and help give him more depth.
