Ah, Gary Bettman, possibly the worst commissionaire among the four major sports leagues, might've just sealed his fate after getting this star players name wrong.
On a TNT broadcast, Bettman listed off who he thought the stars of todays game were. Connor McDavid, Auston Matthews, Caleb Makar yes, Caleb Makar.
If anything this shows how incompetent Gary Bettman is as the commissionaire of the NHL. People stumble over names all the time, but Cale Makar just won a Stanley Cup and the Norris Trophy, you'd think, as a noted fan he would get the names correct.
I bury Bettman quite often, sometimes it's warranted, other times it's not. In this case, it absolutely has reason. At what point do we start calling for a new head? He's all about growing the game and yet all he does is diminish the on ice product and get his star players names wrong. It's time to move on.
