Artemi Panarin and Patrick Kane were one of the most dangerous duo's in the entire NHL during their time together in Chicago. Now, both players will be reunited on a dangerous New York Rangers team as they push to win their first Stanley Cup together.
During Panarin's brief two year stint in Chicago, he tallied a total of 151 points, 61 of those points being goals. The chemistry Panarin developed so quickly with Kane helped secure the Blackhawks two playoff births coming off of their 2015 Stanley Cup victory. During that time, Kane scored a total of 194 points, 80 of which being goals. Kane's 46 goal season playing with Panarin was the highest of his career.
Panarin has had a good season up to this point, scoring 19 goals and tallying 48 assists for the Rangers. Kane's season has been a rollercoaster with the Blackhawks inconsistent offense. Kane had 16 goals and 29 assists prior to being traded to New York on Tuesday afternoon. Kane said in an interview in 2020 that Panarin was the line mate he enjoyed playing with the most.
Patrick Kane will make his Rangers debut Wednesday evening as the Rangers visit the Flyers. Kane will most certainly be playing with Panarin, looking to recreate the magic they enjoyed in Chicago. It all comes full circle for Blackhawks fans. Kane scored the 2010 Stanley Cup clinching goal in Philadelphia, putting the Blackhawks back on the map and kick starting the dynasty. Now, Kane will suit up in a new sweater for the first time in his career, in the same city and building that started it all in Chicago. Best of luck Kaner. Thanks for the memories.
